Workplace Safety and Health Law
While having a safe workplace is a very important goal in itself, it also has significant ramifications in the area of employee relations. Increasingly, unions and other groups have raised safety issues, both real and imagined, in attempts to organize employees or to gain an advantage in some other area. In addition, the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as well as various state safety and health agencies continue to significantly increase their enforcement efforts. Moreover, ensuring that employees have a safe and healthy workplace is simply good business. For all these reasons, our goal is to assist companies in maintaining a safe working environment and at the same time reduce the potential for enforcement proceedings and the possibility of safety arising as an employee relations issue.
We specifically assist our clients in the following ways:
