Litigation Defense
We defend employers against claims of employment discrimination, harassment, breach of employment contract, defamation, retaliatory discharge, wrongful discharge and employment related tort claims. We also defend employers in proceedings related to non-competition and confidentiality agreements. In addition, we have experience in many types of business litigation including traditional torts, premises liability and business contract disputes. In the environmental law area we have experience in class action mass toxic torts, contamination and chemical exposure cases. We regularly represent both public and private employers in state and federal courts throughout the United States and have tried cases before judges, juries and administrative law judges. Finally, we have experience in handling the full range of administrative matters before administrative agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board, U.S. Department of Labor, The Department of Homeland Security (United States Citizenship and Immigration Service and Immigration Customs Enforcement), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission, the South Carolina Department of Labor Licensing and Regulation, the South Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Review Board, and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
